CDEAgron-2nd-Logan-Rogersville-1603-caption Photo available at: http://agebb.missouri.edu/news/moffaconv/CDE/pics/IMG_1603(1).JPG Logan-Rogersville FFA Agronomy Team Places Second at State Contest COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2009 – The Logan-Rogersville FFA agronomy team placed second in the Agronomy Career Development Event at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention. There were 58 teams in the competition. Team members include Seleene Bunch, Gabriel Jacome and Shane Myers. From a field of 224 competitors, Myers ranked first, Bunch ranked second and Jacome ranked 28th. Logan-Rogersville’s advisors are Chad Bybee and Jayson Shriver. Individuals in this contest evaluate crop production and factors that influence the quality of seed and forage crops. Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this contest is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. Career development events engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals. The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has more than 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands. The FFA Mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
