SW MO Corn Silage Variety Trials
This year's high corn prices have encouraged more dairymen in the traditional Southern Missouri dairy belt to take a second look at producing and feeding more corn silage in their rations.
The tables below depict two years of corn silage variety trials from Lawrence County, courtesy of MFA Agri Services, Freistatt.
MFA has conducted corn silage plots on the same farm from the same field, on Schoen Dairy near Freistatt. The difference between the two trials is just a tale of two years. 2006 had a substantial drought but this farm caught a few rains and yields improved.
