Milk production in the U.S. was estimated to be up 5.0% in January 2006 compared to January 2005, based upon 0.8% more cows and 4.2% more milk production per cow.

Milk production in the top 23 states was up 5.4% in January 2006 compared to January 2005, based upon 1.3% more cows and a 4.1% increase in milk production per cow.

In Missouri, milk production was up 4.5% in January 2006 compared to January 2005, based upon 3.4% fewer cows, and an increase in milk production per cow of 8.3%.
