Milk production in the U.S. was estimated to be up 4.1% in May 2005 compared to May 2004, based upon 0.5% more cows and 3.5% more milk production per cow.

Milk production in the top 23 states was up 4.4% in May 2005 compared to May 2004, based upon 0.7% more cows and a 3.7% increase in milk production per cow.

In Missouri, milk production was down 3.5% in May 2005 compared to May 2004, based upon 4.0% fewer cows, and an increase in milk production per cow of 0.7%.
