Milk production in the U.S. was estimated to be up 0.9% in January 2005 compared to January 2004, based upon 0.09% more cows and 0.8% more milk production per cow.

Milk production in the top 23 states was up 1.3% in January 2005 compared to January 2004, based upon 0.5% more cows and a 0.8% increase in milk production per cow.

In Missouri, milk production was down 3.2% in January 2005 compared to January 2004 based upon 5.6% fewer cows, and an increase in milk production per cow of 2.8%.
