Milk production in the U.S. was estimated to be up 4.5% in September 2005 compared to September 2004, based upon 0.4% more cows and 4.1% more milk production per cow.

Milk production in the top 23 states was up 4.9% in September 2005 compared to September 2004, based upon 0.7% more cows and a 4.2% increase in milk production per cow.

In Missouri, milk production was down 7.2% in September 2005 compared to September 2004, based upon 5.0% fewer cows, and a decrease in milk production per cow of 3.2%.
