Milk production in the U.S. was estimated to be up 0.4% in July 2004 compared to July 2003, based upon 0.7% fewer cows and 1.1% more milk production per cow.

Milk production in the top 20 states was up 0.7% in July 2004 compared to July 2003, based upon 0.3% fewer cows and a 1.0% increase in milk production per cow.

In Missouri, milk production was up 2.0% in July 2004 compared to July 2003 based upon 5.4% fewer cows, and an increase in milk production per cow of 7.8%. Cool weather helps!
