Milk production in the top 20 states was down 1.8% in March 2004 compared to March 2003, based upon 1.2% fewer cows and a 0.6% decrease in milk production per cow.

In Missouri, milk production was down 6.3% in March 2004 compared to March 2003 based upon 6.1% fewer cows, and an increase in milk production per cow of 0.4%.
