Milk Production
Milk production in the U.S. was estimated to be up 0.3% in July 2003
compared to July 2002, based upon 0.8% fewer cows and 1.2% more milk
production per cow.
Milk production in the top 20 states was up 0.6% in July 2003
compared to July 2002, based upon 0.2% fewer cows and a 0.8%
increase in milk production per cow.
In Missouri, milk production was down 1.3% in July 2003 compared to
July 2002 based upon 5.8% fewer cows, (a drop of 8,000 cows), and
and increase in milk production per cow of 4.5%.
