Milk Production - Continuing to drop!
Milk production in the U.S. was estimated to be down 0.5% in June
2003 compared to June 2002, based upon 1.5% fewer cows and 0.3% less
milk production per cow.
Milk production in the top 20 states was down 0.1% in June 2003
compared to June 2002, based upon 0.1% fewer cows and level milk per
cow.
In Missouri, milk production was down 0.6% in June 2003 compared to
June 2002 based upon 5.1% fewer cows, (a drop of 7,000 cows), and
and increase in milk production per cow of 4.3%.
