Milk production in the U.S. was only up 0.6% in April 2003 over April 2002, based upon 0.1% more cows and 0.5% more milk production per cow.
Milk production in the top 20 states was up 0.8% in April 2003 over April 2002, based upon 0.5% more cows and 0.8% more milk per cow.
In Missouri, milk production was down 6.0% in April 2003 compared to April 2002 based upon 5.8% fewer cows, (a drop of 8,000 cows), and flat milk production per cow.
