Milk Production
US milk production was up 1.7% in February over one year ago, based upon 0.5% more cows producing 1.2% more milk per cow than a year ago.
In Missouri, milk production was down 4.3% from year ago levels on 6,000 fewer cows producing exactly the same milk production per cow as last year this month.
Western growth states continued to lead production, with New Mexico producing 8.1% more milk than last year at this time, Idaho 5.8% more and California 4.7% more.
