The Wood Science & Technology Program, Division of Forestry & Natural Resources at West Virginia University recently completed a WERC funded project (Award number 05-DG-309) titled, An Interactive Web-based Training Resource Kit for Primary Processors to Improve Lumber Utilization and Grading Efficiency and Maximize Profits from Appalachian Hardwoods in Small-Scale Sawmills. The primary goal of this project was to develop an inter-active web-based training resource kit for trimsaw/edger operators and lumber graders that focus on improving lumber utilization and maximizing product value.
