   Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers and heifers steady. Slaughter cows
steady to 2.00 higher. Demand good. Supply moderate. Near 15 percent of the 
offering were cows and 14 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder 
supply approximately 54 percent steers and bulls and 46 percent heifers. 
Numerous consignments of new crop calves this week as several producers opted
to conserve resources and start coasting some spring calving cows.

Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 8/14/2018

   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 5.00 higher,
with the exception being 650-700 lb heifers trading 6.00-8.00 higher. Some
of the yearlings this week were carrying more flesh, but some thin cattle
were still available for buyers to push top prices and put together loads. 
Demand was mostly good for a moderate supply, moderate later in the sale.
Strong fundamentals and a mostly steady market for several months continue
to bring cattle to town along with the drought. The feeder offering was made
up of near 58 percent steers and bulls and 42 percent heifers with 66
percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 15 percent of the offering.
Slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 lower.

Feeder Cattle Auction for 08/14/18

   Compared to the auction from two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers
traded mostly steady except for yearling steers over 700 lbs
2.00-4.00 higher.  Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 lower.  The yearling
market was active, but not that many calves moving yet with only limited
comparisons with the last special.  Demand moderate to good and supply
moderate.  Cows and bulls accounted for 5 percent of the run and feeders
95 percent.  In the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up approximately
43 percent of the run; heifers 57 percent; steers and heifers over
600 lbs totaled around 85 percent.

    **Special Cow Sale Saturday, August 18th, 1:00 P.M.**
 Compared to last week, steer calves under 600 lbs sold mixed from 2.00
 higher to 2.00 lower.  Steers over 600 lbs sold mostly 3.00 to 5.00
 lower, with a few early sales steady to 2.00 lower.  Heifers under 450
 lbs sold 4.00 to 5.00 lower; 450 to 700 lb heifers sold steady to 3.00
 lower; no recent price comparison on heifers over 700 lbs, however a
 lower undertone noted.  Demand moderate to good on moderate to heavy
 supply.  CME cattle complex took a hit last week as Live Cattle was 2.00
 to 3.00 lower and Feeder Cattle was 3.00 to 4.00 lower on the week.
 Feeder cattle supply included 53 percent Steers, 0 percent Dairy Steers,
 41 percent Heifers, and  6 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600
 lbs was 48 percent.

    Based on limited comparisons to the last sale two weeks ago, steers
 and heifers sold steady to 5.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady. Lots of
 extremely green cattle in the offering this week, all coming off burnt up
 pasture. Drought conditions persist throughout the larger part of trading
 region and cattlemen are out of grass, feeding hay and pulling cattle
 forward, including lots of heifers that producers intended to keep as
 replacements. Supply moderate and demand good.  Feeder cattle supply
 included 45 percent Steers, 51 percent Heifers, and  4 percent Bulls.
 Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 71 percent.
