Palmyra - F and T Livestock Market
Feeder Cattle Auction for 6/18/2018

Receipts: 779 2 Weeks Ago: 1290 Year Ago: 451

Compared to the last tested auction from two weeks ago, feeder steers
and heifers traded steady on a light test. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00
higher compared to last week. Mostly smaller packages of cattle offered
with the quality not as attractive as previous sales. The multiple
weeks of hot weather and short grass appear to be taking its toll on
livestock as well their owners, and the calendar says summer doesn’t
even start until this week. Demand and supply moderate. Cows and
bulls accounted for 15 percent of the run and feeders 85 percent. In
the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up approximately 60 percent of
the run; heifers 40 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled
around 38 percent.
