   Compared to last week, steer calves steady, heifer calves under 600 lbs 2.00
to 6.00 lower following last week's sharply higher trade, yearlings steady,
except 700 weight steers steady to 1.00 higher.  Demand moderate to good, supply
moderate.  The temperature near fifty degrees with sunshine, a year ago this
sale was canceled due to snow and cold temperatures.  The feeder supply included
55 percent steers, 42 percent heifers, 03 percent bulls, with 63 percent over
600 lbs.

   Compared to last week, too few feeder steers and heifers to
establish a trend.  Slaughter cows 6.00-8.00 higher.  Cow prices were
sharply higher as the slaughter cow buyers have become more aggressive
the past couple of weeks, competing for a dwindling supply as the dry
conditions around the South and Midwest have improved thanks to recent
rains.  Bred cows of adequate quality should also continue sell well as
we move closer to the early days of spring.  Demand moderate to good
and supply light.  Cows and bulls accounted for 35 percent of the run
and feeders 65 percent.  In the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up
approximately 60 percent of the run; heifers 40 percent; steers and
heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 15 percent.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium 1-2  350-400 lbs 170.00-180.00; 400-500 lbs
173.00-175.00; 500-600 lbs 151.00-156.00.

   Compared to last Monday, breaking and boning slaughter cows sold 2.00-5.00
higher with the greatest advance on the higher dressing cows and lean cows sold
steady to 1.00 higher while slaughter bulls sold steady. A very high percent of
the offering went to slaughter. There were only a few scattered bred cows and
cow/calf pairs. Supply was light and demand good for slaughter classes.
