   Compared to week ago, feeder steers 3.00 to 8.00 lower, Feeder heifers
unevenly steady, Holsteins steady. Demand moderate. Supply moderate, the feeder 
offering consisted of 45 percent steers and bulls, 30 percent heifers and 30 
percent feeders over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls consisted of 25 percent of the 
total offering. Slaughter cows steady to firm.

   Compared to two weeks ago, a light test of comparable sales sold 5.00-10.00
lower. The high number of cattle that have been placed on feed is starting to
make its impact on the market as fed cattle and futures continue to trend lower.
A cooler forecast this weekend will provide some welcome relief from the heat.
The feeder offering included near 61 percent steers and bulls, and 39 percent
heifers, with 31 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 17 percent of the
offering. Slaughter cows sold mostly 1.00 to 2.00 higher with some high dressing
cows trading 4.00-5.00 higher. 

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  450-500 lbs 170.00-175.00; 500-600 lbs
152.00-166.00, pkg 583 lbs fleshy 151.00; 600-700 lbs 147.00-154.75, 600-700

New Cambria – New Cambria Livestock Auction

   Compared to the last tested auction two weeks ago, lightweight steer calves 
under 500 lbs were lightly tested and sold with a sharply lower undertone, 500-
800 lbs steers traded mostly 6.00-12.00 lower with yearlings over 850 lbs not 
tested with two weeks ago.  Feeder heifers weighing 400-700 lbs sold mostly 
5.00-10.00 lower, with weights over 700 lbs not tested.  Slaughter cows sold 
steady to 2.00 higher.  Demand was moderate to good best on the pot load lots of 
yearlings all selling with good weighing conditions with supply moderate.  CME 
cattle futures and fat cattle trade have all traded sharply lower over the last 
two weeks with fed cattle this week trading mostly 6.00-10.00 lower with live 
prices mostly from 121.00-123.00.  Slaughter cows accounted for near 12 percent 
of the total receipts.  Feeder supply consisted of 52 percent steers, 48 percent 
heifers and 58 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

 No recent Value Added Sale for a true price comparison but compared to
 Monday's regular feeder cattle auction, steers and heifers under 700 lbs
 sold fully 5.00 to 8.00 higher, many spots 10.00 to 12.00 higher. Heavier
 weight cattle steady on a light test. All cattle on offer were long time
 weaned with a proven health history, mostly large strings weighing 500-
 700 lbs. Another tough day at the CME with significant losses for all Live
 and Feeder Cattle contracts, although they did recover just slightly from
 the sharpest losses early in the trading session. Supply heavy and demand
 good.  Feeder cattle supply included 63 percent Steers, and  37 percent
 Heifers. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 53 percent.
