New Cambria - New Cambria Livestock Auction
Feeder Cattle Auction for 05/28/15

Receipts: 1607 2 Weeks Ago: 1705 Year Ago: 1527

Compared to the previous auction from two weeks ago, feeder steers
and heifers firm to 5.00 higher, with instances of 5.00-10.00 higher on
heifers over 600 lbs. Slaughter cows 2.00-4.00 higher. Mostly calves
in the offering with buyers aggressive to own more cattle. Not as much
flesh noticed as there was a month or two ago. Strong futures prices,
cheaper grain, and an abundance of grass all factors supporting the
cattle market. Itís hay season but almost nothing baled yet as wet
weather has halted all field work. Demand good and supply moderate.
Cows and bulls accounted for 14 percent of the run and feeders
86 percent. In the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up
approximately 54 percent; heifers 46 percent; steers and heifers over
