   No sale last week, not enough feeders at this sale for a good market test.
Slaughter cows 4.00 to 5.00 higher, slaughter bulls not well tested.  Demand
moderate to good, supply light.  The weather has curtailed the receipts.  The
temperature in the low twenties with single digit wind chill.  Near 25 percent
of the offering were replacement cows, slaughter cows and bulls.  The feeder
supply included 43 percent steers, 43 percent heifers, 15 percent bulls, with
19 percent over 600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  pkg 471 lbs 293.00; 600-700 lbs few 209.00
-235.00.  Medium and Large 1-2  pkg 393 lbs 313.00; 500-575 lbs 254.00-274.00;
pkg 658 lbs calves 220.00.

   Holsteins: Large 3  pkg 226 lbs 222.50; pkg 383 lbs 215.00.

   Compared to last week, feeders while not a good comparison, had a higher
undertone with some six weight steers up to 17.00 higher.  Supply moderate.
Demand good.  Cows and bulls were 6 percent of receipts.  In the feeder supply,
steers and bulls were 80 percent of the run; heifers 20 percent.  Near
65 percent of feeders weighed over 600 lbs.  Slaughter cows steady-firm on
another light test.

New Cambria - New Cambria Livestock Auction
Feeder Cattle Auction for 02/26/15

Receipts:  510    Week Ago:  1450    Year Ago:  1000

   Feeder steer and heifer trend not well established as there were too
few head in most weight classes for a good comparison with last week.
Slaughter cows steady.  Many of the cattle already sold out of this area
with others waiting for more spring like weather to arrive.  Temperatures
running about twenty five degrees below normal, and expected to stay well
below normal for at least another week.  Demand was moderate and the
supply light.  Cows and bulls accounted for 5 percent of the run and
feeders 95 percent.  In the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up
approximately 44 percent; heifers 56 percent; steers and heifers over
600 lbs totaled around 32 percent.

Scheduling note:  The next feeder sale is Thursday, March 5.
