New Cambria - New Cambria Livestock Auction
Feeder Cattle Auction for 06/25/15

Receipts:  1522    2 Weeks Ago:  1517    Year Ago:  2264

   Compared to the previous auction from two weeks ago, feeder steers
and heifers steady. Slaughter cows 2.00-4.00 higher. Customer
appreciation day at the market with a free ribeye steak sandwich with
all of the fixings. An active market especially on the larger strings
offered with prices near the previous market from a couple of weeks ago.
The market could have easily been higher, but a sharp drop in futures
prices at the CME probably caused some buyers to proceed with a little
more caution. Demand good and supply moderate. Cows and bulls accounted
for 17 percent of the run and feeders 83 percent. In the feeder supply,
steers and bulls made up approximately 55 percent; heifers 50 percent;
steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 65 percent.
