Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers and heifers under 700
lbs sold fully 5.00 to 10.00 higher with many heifer calves under 550
lbs as much as 15.00 higher. Yearling cattle were steady on a relatively
light supply. Slaughter cows 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Average feeder quality
was improved over the last feeder auction with several fancy strings
offered throughout the day. The heifer market in particular was quite
impressive as many buyers were willing to pay prices for heifer calves and
even a few groups of yearlings that at first glance look an awful lot like
steer prices from not too many weeks ago. Supply heavy and demand good to
very good. Feeder cattle supply included 54 percent Steers, 45 percent
Heifers, and 0 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 58
 percent.
