   Compared to last week, steers and heifers 3.00 to 5.00 lower.  Slaughter cows
2.00 to 4.00 lower following last week’s sharp upturn, slaughter bulls 2.00 to
4.00 higher.  Demand good, supply moderate.  Near 17 percent of the receipts 
were replacement cows, slaughter cows and bulls.  The feeder supply included 42
percent steers, 45 percent heifers, 13 percent bulls, with 16 percent over 600
lbs.

   Compared to last week, feeders sold uneven but near steady.  Supply
light.  Demand good.  Cows and bulls were 28 percent of receipts.  In
the feeder supply, steers and bulls were 69 percent of the run; heifers
31 percent.  Near 15 percent of feeders weighed over 600 lbs.  Slaughter
cows near steady, except lean cows firm to 4.00 higher.

Feeder Cattle Auction for 04/23/15

Receipts:  1232    Week Ago:  1985    Year Ago:  1225

   Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers steady to
5.00 lower.  Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 higher.  Bulk of the receipts
400-650 lb calves.  Most offered in smaller packages and some not
weaned or carrying a little flesh.  Cattle futures continued their
recent yoyo performance on Thursday with prices currently on the up
swing, Live and Feeder Futures both closing with limit or near limit up
moves.  Demand and supply moderate.  Cows and bulls accounted for
8 percent of the run and feeders 92 percent.  In the feeder supply,
steers and bulls made up approximately 57 percent; heifers 43 percent;
steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 23 percent.

Scheduling note:  The next feeder sale is Thursday, April 30.
