   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold uneven from 6.00 lower
to 3.00 higher.  Slaughter cows and bulls sold 2.00-3.00 higher. Supply 
moderate to heavy.  Cows made up approximately 12 percent of the run, 
88 percent feeders.  Steers made up approximately 48 percent of the offering, 
39 percent heifers with 13 feeder bulls.  Offerings over 600 lbs totaled 
around 24 percent.

    Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves  steady to 5.00 lower,
 yearlings steers steady to firm, yearling heifers steady.  Holsteins
 compared to two weeks ago, unevenly steady on comparable sales.  Demand
 moderate,  supply moderate to heavy.  The fleshy, un-weaned and short
 weaned calves are trading lower as health becomes a big issue for Buyers
 this time of the year.  Demand best for long time weaned calves and  true
 yearlings.  Feeder cattle supply included 44 percent Steers, 19 percent
 Dairy Steers, 30 percent Heifers, and  7 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle
 supply over 600 lbs was 52 percent.

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold steady to 4.00 higher.  
Slaughter bulls sold 2.00-4.00 higher.  The offering included a moderate supply 
of bred cows with most in the 2nd stage and a light supply of cow/calf pairs 
and 1st and 3rd stage bred cows.  Demand was moderate on all classes of 
livestock.   JRS regular monthly replacement cow and bull sale will be held 
this Saturday, October 14, 2017 beginning at 12:00 noon.  They are expecting 
650-700 head.

 400-450 lb heifers sharply higher on a lighter run than last week.
 Yearlings not well tested this week.  Demand was moderate to good on the
 offering of mostly calves weighing 400-650 lbs.  A drizzly cold snap
 arrived in the area yesterday hampering movement of cattle somewhat.
 Feeder cattle supply included 42 percent Steers, 42 percent Heifers, and
 16 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 24 percent.

to 1.00 higher. Supply light. Near 4 percent of the offering were cows and 44
percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 60 percent
steers and bulls and 40 percent heifers.

slaughter bulls steady to firm.   Demand was good on a heavy supply of 
slaughter cows and a light supply of slaughter bulls and pairs.  The 
supply consisted of 49 percent slaughter cows, 18 percent bred cows, 3 
percent cow/calf pairs, 7 percent slaughter bulls, 14 percent stocker/
feeder cows and 9 percent calves.
