   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 3.00-5.00 lower and
slaughter bulls sold 4.00-6.00 lower with the greatest decline on high
dressing individuals. The offering included a moderate supply of bred
cows and a light supply of cow/calf pairs. Supply and demand were
moderate for slaughter classes.

Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 8/16/2017

    Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers under 500 lbs 2.00-10.00 higher, 
500-550 lbs steady to 2.00 lower and over 550 lbs 4.00-8.00 lower. Feeder 
heifers steady except some near 625 lbs 2.00-4.00 lower. Slaughter cows 2.00-
3.00 lower. Supply light. Near 10 percent of the offering were cows and 32 
percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 52 percent
steers and bulls and 48 percent heifers. Feeder futures were back in reverse 
Wednesday losing 300+ points and wiping out nearly all of Tuesdays gains. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  11 head thin 380 lbs 202.00; 400-500 lbs
177.50-189.00; 500-600 lbs 154.50-169.00, package thin 505 lbs 177.25, package
fleshy 595 lbs 148.50; 600-700 lbs 148.75-158.00, few calves 146.00-152.50; 700-
800 lbs 138.50-142.50. Medium and Large 1-2  small package 530 lbs 159.00; 650-
700 lbs 141.00-144.00. Medium 1  18 head fleshy calves 655 lbs 130.00.

**ORS will be having a Special Cow Sale on Fri, Aug 18th at 6:00 P.M 
with over 1000 head consigned.  **

   Compared to last week, slaughter cows traded 3.00-4.00 lower with 
slaughter bulls trading steady to 1.00 lower.  Demand was moderate on 
a moderate supply.  The supply consisted of 41 percent slaughter cows, 
24 percent bred cows, 4 percent cow/calf pairs, 15 percent slaughter 
bulls, 5 percent stocker/feeder cows and 12 percent calves.

80 percent feeders.  Steers made up approximately 43 percent of the offering, 48 
percent heifers with 10 feeder bulls.  Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 24 
percent.
