   Compared last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher
and slaughter bulls sold 1.00 higher. There was a light supply of both
bred cows and cow/calf pairs. Most of the area received at least some
rain last night and this morning and temperatures have moderated. Supply
was moderate and demand good for slaughter classes.
***Note: JRS will hold their next replacement cow and bull sale this
Thursday evening August 16th beginning at 5:00 pm. expecting 600 head.***

   Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 500 lbs sold steady to 4.00 
higher, offerings over 500 lbs sold 6.00-8.00 higher.  Slaughter cows sold 2.00 
lower, bulls sold 3.00 lower; Demand good and supply moderate.  Cows made up 
approximately 10 percent of the run, 90 percent feeders.  Steers made up 
approximately 46 percent of the offering, 46 percent heifers with 9 percent 
feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 52 percent.

Feeder Cattle Auction Report for  8/15/2018

   Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers under 600 lbs steady, over
600 lbs firm to 2.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 600 lbs steady, over
600 lbs firm to 4.00 higher. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 higher. Demand 
good. Supply moderate. Near 11 percent of the offering were cows and 52
percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 49
percent steers and bulls and 51 percent heifers. Several consignments of
heifers this week weighing 600-700 lbs where the weighted average was 
boosted by a failed attempt to buy a large draft of replacement quality
heifers. Areas around Vienna and to the south saw much need rain overnight
with several reports of 1.00-2.00 inches.

 Dairy Steers, 46 percent Heifers, and  9 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle
 supply over 600 lbs was 29 percent.

 percent Steers, 45 percent Heifers, and  4 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle
 supply over 600 lbs was 51 percent.
