Vienna- South Central Regional Stockyards
Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 6/21/2017

Receipts: 2408 Week Ago: 222 Year Ago: 1979

Compared to the sale two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers 4.00-
10.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady. Supply heavy. Near 3 percent of the
offering were cows and 39 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder
supply approximately 67 percent steers and bulls and 33 percent heifers.
Lots of reputation, quality, and genetics represented throughout this week’s
offering. A light feedlot trade took place Wednesday at prices 8.00-9.00/cwt
lower than last week. The spigot is beginning to open in the form of lower
cutout values which probably needs to happen to keep up with the larger
number of market ready cattle as packers continue to operate with fantastic
margins.
