The Missouri Forage & Grassland Council/Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative is an organization made up of farmers, ranchers, educators, scientists, conservationists, industries and government agencies with a common interest in forages. MFGC/GLCI promotes the efficient use of forages through a variety of research, education and service programs.

Forages are vitally important to Missouri. More than half of the land area in the state is in forages. Forages make up two-thirds or more of the feed for livestock. They provide food and shelter for wildlife, greatly reduce soil erosion and protect water quality.

Members of MFGC/GLCI enjoy a number of benefits

• Farm tours, "pasture walks" and other educational programs
• Subscription to Missouri Grasslands, the quarterly newsletter of the MFGC/GLCI
• $5.00 discount to members who attend the Grazing Workshop at FSRC at Linneus, MO
• Discount on registration to the MFGC/GLCI Annual Meeting
• Discount on membership in AFGC (AFGC members also receive Hay and Forage Grower published 6 times a year)
• Discount on cost of forage analysis at cooperating testing labs

Membership in MFGC/GLCI is only $30/yr for individuals. This includes membership into the national organization AFGC (American Forage and Grassland Council.) Corporate and trade memberships are also available.
