About the Sale

This is the sixty-seventh Missouri All-Breed Performance-Tested Bull Sale sponsored by the Missouri Beef Cattle Improvement Association. It is a cooperative effort of Missouri breeders, area livestock extension specialists, and the Department of Animal Science of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.

The bulls offered are growthy and rugged from Missouri herds, the kind that can make improvement in all commercial herds and in many purebred herds. These bulls have met certain predetermined standards in order to be eligible for the sale. All of the bulls have been in the Missouri On-Farm Beef Performance-Testing Program supervised by the University of Missouri Extension Service or tested at bull testing stations. Most bulls are also tested within various breed association programs.

The minimum requirements for the sale are as follows:
  1. Yearling weight of 1,1 00 lbs.

  2. Minimum scrotal circumference of 32 cm. for bulls less than 15 months of age by sale day, and 34 cm. for bulls greater than 15 months of age by sale day.

  3. Minimum 365-day adjusted hip height of 47 inches.

  4. Tested for breeding soundness and found to be satisfactory potential breeders.

All of the bulls will have loineye and backfat estimates measured by real time ultrasound, height measured for frame score, scrotal measurements, be weighed and scored for soundness the day prior to sale.

Approximately 3,000 bulls were screened and sifted in order to secure this offering.

The bulls will be in excellent condition and of an age that should appeal to the most discriminating buyer. They will have been tested for brucellosis or certified herd and anaplasmosis and found negative, and vaccinated against five strains of leptospirosis.

All bulls consigned to this sale are on the farms of the consignors prior to the sale.
