Title: "Managing Alternative Pollinators"
Origin of Information: Other
Publication Date: 2010
Author: Eric Mader, Marla Spivak, Elaine Evans
Notes: To diversify our pollinators, we must better understand how to manage a variety of bee species as well as the habitat that supports them and their wild counterparts. In 2000, growers in the United States were paid close to $20 billion for insect-pollinated crops. According to estimates, managed and wild native bee species are responsible for close to a quarter of this value; honey bees are responsible for the rest.
