Title: "National Agroforestry Center"
Origin of Information: USDA
Notes: A partnership of the USDA Forest Service and NRCS created to accelerate the development and application of agroforestry technologies to attain more economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable land-use systems. Agroforestry is defined as the intentional growing of trees and shrubs in combination with crops or forage. It also includes tree and shrub planting on farms and ranches that improves habitat value for humans and wildlife, protects water quality, or that provides woody plant products in addition to agricultural crops or forage. The NAC co-funds small producer grants on agroforestry with the USDA, SARE program. Limited funding is also available for demonstrations and workshops. Agroforestry publications are available on their website.
