Pros and Cons of Reporting Irrigation Water use

Pros

• It’s the law.
• You establish a legal precedence to use of water ("first in use, first in line").
• MO irrigation water associations support the concept of reporting.
• Voluntary reporting will help prevent future laws requiring flow meters be installed on all irrigation wells, like KS, GA, NM, etc. are required to do.

Cons

• A record exists of the wells you own/operate.
