Horizon Point Weather System
Three steps are required to begin using Horizon Point.
- Set up a user account.
- Designate locations for reports.
- Select/manage reports to receive.
After completing Steps 1 and 2 above, it will take approximately 2 weeks to begin receiving emailed reports for your site. Two things occur during this period.
First, Horizon Point begins to collect weather data for your specific location. Since the report contains 4 days of historical data, the report must be delayed by several days to accumulate this necessary information.
Second, the University of Missouri Commercial Ag Program will send an aerial photograph of the latitude and longitude you specified in your user setup. The aerial photograph and other information are sent to you to confirm that reports will be generated for the field that you are managing.
Before setting up a user account, you must have an email address where you want to have the reports sent and know the latitude and longitude of the farm for which the reports will be used. If you do not know your latitude and longitude, two websites that you can use to find them are: www.cares.missouri.edu/berm and msrmaps.com.
