The Missouri Alternatives Center serves as a communications center for Missouri farmers, Extension staff, government personnel and people who want to begin farming, diversify their current operation, or find ways to profit from small amounts of acreage. This statewide program’s goal is to sustain a desirable quality of life for people through agricultural systems that are ecologically sound, economically viable, and socially responsible. The program helps Missouri’s farm families and rural residents sustain successful farms and rural communities by facilitating farmer-to-farmer networks, farmer-to-consumer relationships and educational programs.
