Coaches Guide

    Introduction

Thank you for your interest in helping 4-H members interested in competing in 4-H sponsored horse bowl contests. Several years ago we started the bowl coaches training and as gas prices soared it became necessary to change our training method from face to face to this on line test. Our goal is to continue improving the on line version by adding video clips, etc. In the mean time, please bear with us as we delve into this instruction method.

Please fill out the personal data information completely. We primarily use email to get contact with trained coaches throughout the year but occasionally need phone and snail mail address too.

The test has 50 questions and you must get 80% or better. There is no limit on retaking the test. The questions are selected from our horse bowl manual which is linked to this page. It is a large file so down load time can be lengthy. I’d recommend you print off the manual as an open book testing reference and future guideline resource.

Passing the test is just the first step in the learning journey. Participation in a contest is the way most of us learn. Each region has a regional coordinator and once you are trained, Sue Knautz, our state bowl coordinator will be in contact with you. If you have questions please let me know.
