At Birth:

1) Dip naval with 7% iodine.  Wash out dipper every 3rd calf.

2) Place calf in heater.

3) Give SCOUR VACCINE.

4) Give SELENIUM.

5) CLOSTRIDIUM ANTITOXIN.

6) Take ear notch for BVD-PI testing.


1/2 to 1 hour after Birth:

1) The calf should receive 1 gallon of colostrum if from a mature Johne’s negative cow.

2) If cow a first calf heifer or Johne’s positive, use saved colostrum or COLOSTRUM REPLACEMENT.
