Scott Brown from the University of Missouri began his presentation with the 2014 Farm Bill. He brought up policy changes for the crop produces, and how they have to choose between price loss coverage and agriculture risk coverage. He mentioned the usage of base acreage reallocation, the four-year average of planted acres plus prevented planting acres for all covered commodities. He then went on to say that payment yield updates were the easiest problems on the farm bill, as they were just comparing averages.

Next, Scott asked guests to visit the website usda.afpc.tamu.edu, and use the tools provided by it. He went over the different aspects of the website and how to use it. The website helps farmers learn about crops and decide what options most benefits them. Scott wrapped things up by answering questions from the conference guests.
