Michael Stachiw from Fenton, Missouri, Strategic Mapping and Data Services, LLC presented the conference attendees with the topic, "Big Data". Big data meaning data that is so large, or there is so much information that it is hard for processors and storage units to handle it all. Some examples Michael listed were crop yields, marketing sales/information, financial data, and medical charts/patient information. He said that big data is going to occur, even in farming, but if done carefully and structurally, it can be made easy to use and valuable for yourself and others.
