MS Excel Spreadsheets can be used in beef operations for many useful purposes:

  • Making simple and complex calculations
  • Keeping track of feed
  • Keeping track of various costs
  • To keep tack of sales
  • Compare and contrast items you are considering buying
  • To make future financial projections
  • If you know the actual mathematical formulas, Excel is very user-friendly
  • With Excel, you do not need to re-enter the formula over and over again, you can copy and paste the formula
  • Can be used as a simple database; easier for the user to adapt to
  • Excel can display data in various graphs or charts
