Dan Barker delivered a presentation on how internet technologies are reaching rural Missouri. An important issue in rural Missouri is wiring. Most rural communities are now converting to fiber optics rather than copper, which is allowing for greater capabilities of access. In addition, the types and varieties of connections are increasing the availability of high speed internet access in rural areas. Lastly, the future of the internet in rural areas and the role it will play in the development of these areas was discussed.
