Team Members


Ronnie Alewel (Missouri Association of Meat Processors). Mrs. Alewel is one of two MAMP members sitting on the Team. She is also the MAMP Executive Secretary. ralewel@iland.net

Andrew Clarke (Food Science Dept.). Dr. Clarke's research activities emphasize the study of processed meat products to improve the safety and quality of value-added products. ClarkeA@missouri.edu

Ingolf Gruen (Food Science Dept.). Dr. Gruen specializes in analytical chemistry with applications in food composition, flavor chemistry and the influence of food ingredients on quality attributes of foods. GruenI@missouri.edu

Jason Jennings (Missouri Association of Meat Processors). Mr. Jennings has served as a past president of the MAMP. jjenning@coin.org

Carol Lorenzen (Food Science Dept.). Dr. Lorenzen's areas of interest are carcass composition and quality, and growth and development; specifically, production factors that affect meat palatability. LorenzenC@missouri.edu

Azlin Mustapha (Food Science). Dr. Mustapha's area of specialty is Food Microbiology; specifically biochemical and genetic analysis of enzyme systems influencing microbiology activity. MustaphaA@missouri.edu

Vern Pierce (Agricultural Economics). Dr. Pierce practices applied research in cost of production, production economics and efficiency, price discovery, source identity reservation, value added, futures and options, vertical organization, farm management, and strategic planning. Joe Zulovich (Extension Agricultural Engineering). Dr. Zulovich's areas of interest include design and management of farm structures including building environment control. ZulovichJ@missouri.edu
