The University of Missouri has developed these educational programs to help aid producers:
1) Business Environmental Risk Management
(BERM) is an educational program designed to help producers understand and proactively manage their potential environmental
risks. BERM is a web-based tool enabling farmers to discover their particular environmental risks and providing information
and strategies to manage these risks.
2) Missouri Animal Feeding Operation Site Evaluation Report
is an educational tool designed to help producers understand the regulatory, community and environmental
issues with a specific location for livestock production.
Farmers begin by locating their farm on a web-based Geographical Information System. They can print an aerial photo
map of their land and a report summarizing their individual risks. Reports have links to other web pages that should
assist producers to make more intelligent business expansion decisions, reduce environmental liability risks from production
activities and prevent legal and regulatory problems.
Links found below are within the different reports developed by these educational tools and resources.
