FLEP Correction
In the last issue of Green Horizons, which outlined the Forest Land Enhancement Program (FLEP), it was incorrectly stated that a landowner must work with either an MDC forester or an NRCS-approved Technical Service Provider (TSP) to develop and implement his/her management plan. In fact, anyone can write the management plan. However, it must be approved by an MDC regional forest supervisor. The Editor erroneously added the information, and Green Horizons apologizes for any confusion created by this oversight. We do strongly encourage landowners to seek the professional help of either private consulting foresters or MDC foresters in preparing their management plans.
