Ground breaking for a new pecan processing plant and retail outlet was held in early April in Nevada, Mo. Construction should be completed so members of the Missouri Northern Pecan Growers can begin cleaning this fall's crop in November. Lowell Mohler, director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture, helps one of the plant's owners, Joe Wilson, plant a pecan tree on the site.
