Summer 2000
The Karkaghnae Club turns 50!
This year is the 50th anniversary of the Karkaghnae Club. Membership is open to
everyone, and includes private and government forestry professionals, private
landowners, loggers, various wood products representatives and others interested in
forestry. Dues are a bargain at $5 per year. Meetings are generally centered around field
trips. The Spring 2000 meeting included a trip to Piedmont, Mo. to visit a demonstration
area at Kelly Burke's Timber 34 Company, where mechanical harvesting was used in a
selective cut.
